Stamped Magnets Tutorial

Here's a super fun, super easy project to do with your rubber stamps and few supplies that are easy to get (you may even have them laying around the house right now)

Here's what you'll need:
  • Rubber Stamp/s
  • Desired Ink Color/s
  • White or Cream colored Cardstock
  • Sharp Scissors
  • Clear Nail Polish
  • Hot Glue Gun (and a few hot glue sticks)
  • Magnets

Tip: It's a good idea to choose stamps that are relatively the same size as your magnets.  This will ensure that your finished magnets wont be too flimsy and unstable.

 Step 1:
Stamp images onto cardstock.
Wait a couple of minutes for ink to dry, so that your images are not smudged as you move onto the next steps.

Step 2:
Cut out each image carefully.

Step 3:
Paint Clear Nail Polish over the stamped images.  Be sure to work in quick, even motions, not going over the same area twice.  This may cause the ink to run.
Wait for Polish to dry completely.

Step 4:
Hot glue magnets onto the back of each cutout image.  Use hot glue sparingly so that it does not run over the sides.
Spread a thin layer of hot glue over the entire back of  image, being careful as you go.  This will help make your finished magnets be rigid, and more durable.

Ta-Da!  Fun magnets that you've made yourself.
These make great party favors, or gifts.  They can be personalized completely since you choose the stamps you'll be using.

I used my Wrapped Candy stamp for this project.
I plan to make more of these decorative magnets soon using other stamps I've got, and will add pictures here when I do to show more examples.
